Stone Paving in Marble and Belgium Bluestone

Natural stone paving project of an entrance hall in an English private house, using Portuguese marble “Pele tigre” (tiger skin) with Belgium Bluestone border tiles. The Marble tiger skin from Portugal was the chosen natural stone because of the visual appeal that was requested for the lobby paving where clearly the stone had to standout. The whole project was drawn in Autocad, where it was even necessary to move some door frames, in order to be geometric perfect and fit into the shapes of the room. The 1mm tolerance and the 3mm joint brought some extra difficulties, but nothing that Plurimarmores couldn’t cope.

For the border tiles it was chosen the Belgium Bluestone, because it’s a more neutral dark blue color stone in order to contrast with the Estremoz marble. The marble tiles were 914x914x20mm and the border tiles in Belgium bluestone had 914x147x20mm

The transitions for other rooms were a bit complicated as the areas were of different dimensions – the tile sizes had to be adjusted, something that was achieved with great craftmenship.

The customer also ordered other products in Marble – like one massive basin also in Tiger Skin – and and a different paving layout for this WC.
